The interdisciplinary studies graduate program serves students seeking to combine two or more disciplines into an advanced-study program. In this way interdisciplinary studies graduate program may provide an academic pathway for students to blend their academic preparation and training beyond what might be typical for those specializing in a single discipline. Interested students must already be admitted to an existing graduate program prior to seeking approval for an interdisciplinary studies program.

The interdisciplinary studies program allows students to tailor their educational interests, research, and scholarship. With the permission of the student’s advisory committee and of the Graduate College, students may complete additional graduate certificates and degrees.
