This program is unique to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and allows dental students to receive additional training and experiences in dental public health, including courses from the College of Dentistry, College of Public Health, and Tippie College of Business. It provides enhanced learning and understanding about public health and population health that is valuable for those entering any type of practice setting, including private practices throughout Iowa.

The professional Certificate in Dental Public Health requires a minimum of 12 s.h. of coursework completed at the University of Iowa. Students must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.00 in order to earn the certificate. Students must also participate in the student Dental Public Health Club and engage in community outreach activities.
