Students admitted to graduate study in biochemistry and molecular biology pursue the Doctor of Philosophy.

The Master of Science program in biochemistry and molecular biology requires a minimum of 30 s.h. of graduate credit, thesis research, and a thesis. See the PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology in this section of the catalog for information about the graduate curriculum.

The department does not directly admit students to the master's program. Graduate students in biochemistry and molecular biology work toward a Doctor of Philosophy. Students who wish to leave or change PhD programs can instead matriculate with a master's degree if they have met the requirements.
